Watch your mailboxes!!

This week is a rather busy one, barely having time to post do I. But just a few things to mention. Offhandedly, it is going to SNOW!!! in APRIL!!, and my social project which was a tad bit difficult went wondrously well.

Anyways, but on the topic of my trip... this week sometime we will be going to a copy place and making several letter copies which is really exciting. So definitly pick one up at the back of the church on Sunday, or I will give/mail one to you. It is like the beginning of my fundraising!! (i know it's late, but its okay.) By the way, if you have any ideas, at all, (they gotta be reasonable) please talk to me) :)

Another thing is on this Sunday... at Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church http://www.coaldalembchurch.com/, I will be saying my 'speech'. Haha. just a short little presentation on where i am going, why, and what I'll be doing ect ect. So that is partially nerve racking, but I think I'll do fine.
Also, we are printing off my long, i think 4 page packing list, and we are starting to work on that!!!

Lastly, my loving, strong grandpa, ordered (through HBC rewards)me a polka dot carry on which is so sturdy and strong, and dependable.....not to mention pretty. It is soon to come in via mail i believe. Oh dear o dear. Will i ever stand out. thankx grandpa. love you lots.

Watch for you letters.

Meeting up...soon...

Very busy today. This has to be a short post.
So, I'm so excited because I've been in touch with other people that are going on the trip that live near me. My flights have been booked and I'm on the same flight as them!!! It's so much safer and just wayyy more exciting because I won't be flying alone. also I've made a time to meet them and it will be so great to actually meet them. i believe it will feel actually 'real' then. I really don't think that everything has actually sunk in yet. Oh man, there's so much going on, just craziness. Anyways, I have to go. much to do! :) :) :)

Counting Down...

So in 73 days, I'll be flying out of my little town of 6000 to an unfamiliar CITY of thousdands and thousands of people, sounds tempting eh? Well, I'm very very excited. Anyways, things are comin along relativly smoothly. Flights have been booked, and I've connected with 4 other girls that will be flying with me!! The next big, or rather, enormous challenge that lays ahead is fundraising!! Ahhh. Already we have a few ideas in place, like a garage sale, and fundraising letters, but I don't believe that those will amount to enough. please pray for these efforts, and that that they come together. i'm not very comfortable with asking people for money, its weird, but i think we'll find ways. i'm super nervous, but God definetly wouldnt' bring me this far to not continue. My parents have been supporting me like crazy, (like they always do) and its just so awesome to have this trip coming together. its really really coming together. like yesterday i was looking at a year long calander, all on one page, and i realized it actaully starts in like 2 1/2 months. that was a weird realization. but anyways, i know that God will provide and everything will eventually fall into place. fundraising and all. i will not worry. at this point i'm working (and finishing) the personal letters I'm sending asking for donations, so watch for your letter soon!

Accepted!! (and Welcome to my blog)

Hello everybody!

So just 3 weeks ago, I received an e-mail stating that i was being accepted to a wonderful trip, not just an ordinary, let's go to the lake and go camping, but a life-altering, type of trip. I'd been accepted to Brio Missions 'Never The Same' 2009 Missions trip to Guatemala!!! This trip is through Brio Magazine www.briomissions.com , and organized through Big World Ventures www.bigworld.org.

Since then, I've (and my family), have been super super busy. Papers to sign, calls to make, e-mails to right, flights to book. Oh boy, but you totally don't know how excited I am...almost continually jumpin up and down.

Ever since I heard about this trip a couple years ago I've been begging and begging my parents to go. Fortunately this year, things worked out just before the deadline for applying. Anyway, I'll keep you updated on the highlights, lowlights, and the happenings of my trip. Welcome to my blog!
